The release 3.6 of privacyIDEA opens the possibility to manage additional user attributes within privacyIDEA. Based on these, administrators can define policies for additional permissions. In addition, a new feature in privacyIDEA 3.6 is that administrators can now also use arbitrary token attributes as conditions in policies. These are additional ways that administrators can control privacyIDEA properties and define users’ permissions.
IT security company NetKnights releases version 3 of its app "privacyIDEA Authenticator". The program turns Android and Apple smartphones into a secure second factor for multi-factor authentication. Thanks to the cryptographic push process, users can log in securely and conveniently.
With the new release, the open source provider offers companies new flexible authentication mechanisms and means for very special requirements and usage scenarios. Among other things, users have more freedom in designing authentication workflows and using their own token types. Other features of privacyIDEA 3.4 include a new dashboard for a better overview of the system and an enhanced push token.
Using the privacyIDEA ownCloud App users can now login to ownCloud receiving a Push notification on their smartphone. The user logs in to the ownCloud web interface using his username and password. He then receives a push notification on his smartphone. Only after accepting this notification the user is finally logged in to ownCloud.
