At the end of April 2026, we exhibited at FOSS North in Gothenburg with NetKnights and privacyIDEA. The event provided a great opportunity to engage with prospective clients and open-source enthusiasts and discuss our privacyIDEA solution.
A special highlight of FOSS North was also the presentation by our colleague Jelina titled:
“Hybrid Multi-Factor Authentication: Balancing On-Premise Control and Cloud Integration with privacyIDEA”
The presentation focused on privacyIDEA as a powerful system for managing multi-factor authentication. privacyIDEA enables the centralized management of tokens across various applications. This unified approach not only reduces administrative overhead but also significantly improves user-friendliness.
Another key aspect of the presentation was the deliberate decision to adopt an on-premise approach. privacyIDEA gives organizations the ability to retain control over their data and systems. At the same time, the increasing shift toward cloud-based solutions is prompting many companies to ask what role on-premise systems will still play in the future. The presentation addressed precisely this issue and highlighted how on-premise control and cloud integration can be meaningfully combined in hybrid scenarios.
FOSS North was an interesting event for us: We felt very much at home there, had many interesting conversations with visitors and exhibitors, and made new contacts.
