RADIUS

Remote Authentication Dial In User Service.

RADIUS is a protocol that is used to control remote access for users. This protocol supports authentication, authorization and auditing, which is often referred to as triple-A (AAA). The RADIUS protocol is roughly supported by all VPN and firewall solutions.

The open source software privacyIDEA uses the FreeRADIUS server to provide the RADIUS protocol.
