privacyIDEA Summit 2025 in Kassel
On June 18, 2025, it was time again: The NetKnights team invited their customers to this year’s privacyIDEA Summit in Kassel. The evening before, during a get-together and dinner at the Hotel FischerS in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, participants had the opportunity to relax, chat, and get in the spirit for the upcoming day. A total of 20 customers from all over Germany attended the event to experience a day full of valuable insights, discussions, and networking opportunities related to multi-factor authentication with privacyIDEA.
The privacyIDEA Summit began in the morning with a warm welcome and introduction by the NetKnights team. The program was carefully put together to cover both technical topics and practical use cases. It kicked off with two expert presentations that provided participants with useful insights.
Daniel Stoph from Yubico started things off by talking about passkeys and different user scenarios. His presentation offered interesting perspectives on the future of secure authentication and showed how passkeys can make everyday life easier.
Our head of development then gave an exclusive preview of the upcoming version 3.12 of privacyIDEA. He presented the planned new features and improvements that will further optimize privacyIDEA. A special highlight was an exclusive preview of the new privacyIDEA web interface, which will be implemented in future versions.
Two user stories followed: one customer reported on the use of privacyIDEA in municipal data centers, while another provided insights into its implementation in the public sector. These reports provided first-hand practical experience from our customers and sparked a lively discussion.
The afternoon was all about exchange: In an open Q&A session, customers had the opportunity to raise their own topics and discuss them directly with the NetKnights team and other participants. Our team’s expertise was on hand to answer individual questions and work out solutions together.
The privacyIDEA Summit 2025 was once again an informal and exciting platform for knowledge transfer, inspiration, and networking among our customers.
We would like to thank all participants for their interest and active participation! We are already looking forward to the next privacyIDEA Summit—together, we want to continue developing innovative solutions and mastering challenges in IT security.
And many thanks to Christine Brinkmann for the great photographic coverage.
